75F® Mystat
Dennis had the privilege of interviewing Gaurav Burman, who shared valuable insights into 75F’s innovation-driven culture, the success of its recent launches – Saffron AI and Hyperstat – and the company’s strategy for navigating future challenges.
Here is the excerpt from the interview:
Dennis: How does 75F ensure that its innovation keeps pace with evolving industry trends and market demands? What strategies do you use to stay ahead and align with shifting market needs?
Gaurav: We often find ourselves ahead of the market in terms of innovation, which means there is a significant need for education, demonstrations, and pilot programs. As an organization, we prioritize gathering feedback from customers, dealers, distributors, and contractors. This feedback is systematically integrated into our Product Council Meetings and Brand Trust Forums, ensuring direct input from sales and service teams reaches R&D and product development.
We have a structured process for evaluating ideas, where potential innovations go through a maturity framework, are assigned weightages, and prioritized based on market impact. Timelines are set for product and feature rollouts, creating a dynamic balance between urgency and strategic development.
Many of our innovations align with industry trends, particularly in IoT, wireless solutions, and retrofits, ensuring ease of deployment. Today, 80-90% of our clients are retrofit projects, highlighting the demand for cost-effective, scalable solutions that improve existing infrastructure without requiring extensive modifications.
Dennis: Let’s discuss Saffron AI and Hyperstat, which have been gaining significant attention. What inspired the development of these innovations, and what drives 75F’s commitment to continuous innovation in smart building solutions?
Gaurav: The inspiration behind our products and platform comes from our founder and CEO, Deepinder Singh, who is based in the U.S. He is the technical visionary behind our innovations.
HyperStat was developed to address the complexity and cost associated with multiple management systems in commercial buildings. Traditionally, buildings have separate control systems for HVAC (BMS), lighting (LMS), and IAQ sensors, each requiring its own hardware, software, and installation. Since hardware accounts for 70% of costs, we aimed to combine multiple functionalities into a single device.
75F® HyperStat™
HyperStat integrates eight indoor air quality sensors (temperature, humidity, PM2.5, CO2, VOCs) along with lux and occupancy sensors for lighting control. Additionally, its built-in relays can manage various HVAC systems, including small air conditioning units, VRFs, and fan coil units, making it ideal for spaces like hotel rooms and conference rooms. This all-in-one solution reduces hardware costs while enabling seamless automation.
Saffron AI was inspired by the rapid rise of generative AI technologies like ChatGPT. While AI has been widely applied in various industries, it had not yet been fully leveraged within building management data. To bridge this gap, we trained our AI models for thousands of hours on the data generated by our BMS and sensors, enabling advanced automation, predictive insights, and enhanced decision-making.
Saffron AI is the first of its kind, and we see immense potential as more industries integrate AI-driven intelligence into their operations.
Dennis: How do you envision 75F’s future? With the launch of your AI solutions, do you see the company positioning itself more as an AI-driven enterprise or as a building automation provider? Additionally, how do you plan to expand and build upon these innovations?
Gaurav: Rather than focusing on labels, we believe the market and our clients will ultimately define our identity. Our priority is not how we are categorized but rather our mission to drive innovation and efficiency in building automation. No single company can solve all challenges alone—success often depends on scale, geography, and integration within a broader ecosystem of solutions.
We build strong partnerships, including OEMs, distributors, utility companies, and industry groups, to ensure we complement existing solutions and address market needs effectively. Maintaining close relationships with our customers is crucial. In India, for instance, we have retained over 90% of our customers from the past eight years, even as we have scaled to hundreds of new clients.
Our focus remains on continuous innovation, expanding features, and ensuring long term customer value through cost-effective solutions. With the right partnerships and service excellence, we are confident in our ongoing success.
