Stratecast | Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Huawei Technologies with the 2017 Stratecast Global Market Leadership Award in CSP Monetization – Billing Mediation
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — October 18, 2017 — Based on its recent analysis of the communication service provider (CSP) monetization – billing mediation market, Stratecast | Frost & Sullivan recognizes Huawei Technologies (Huawei) with the 2017 Stratecast Global Market Leadership Award for its leadership within the billing mediation market. This Market Leadership award is given each year by Stratecast to the company that has demonstrated excellence by capturing the largest market share within the global CSP billing mediation segment. Huawei leads this market, and continues to grow at a year-over-year rate much higher than the overall billing mediation market.
In the dynamic global CSP market, customer data volumes have increased as smartphone and tablet usage continues to rise, driven especially by escalating levels of video streaming. However, recent entrants to the data volume realm, including 3D printing, virtual reality and augmented reality applications, are starting to bring significant data management challenges to companies that are or will be using them, along with the network operators carrying such data-intensive workloads.
“As Internet of Things-based business opportunities unfold and data-intensive applications increase, data collection, data aggregation and multi-source data correlation capabilities for the monetization processes are sorely needed,” said Karl Whitelock, Stratecast Global Director Strategy Operations, Orchestration, Data Analytics and Monetization (ODAM). “It could be said that billing mediation acts as a ‘protective shield’ for the rest of the monetization and data usage processes—collecting, aggregating, correlating, and normalizing data to provide other business management functions what they need, when they need it.”
Stratecast | Frost & Sullivan believes Huawei’s strength in mediation lies within the company’s product portfolio that addresses all end-to-end monetization functions and through its growth within the mediation domain. Most of the functionality modules that define Huawei’s monetization solution are contained within the Huawei Convergent Billing Solution (CBS), including its billing mediation offering, Huawei Mediation.
Working with network operators that have some of the highest subscriber counts anywhere in the world, Huawei addresses their customers’ unique data collection and management needs, relative to the monetization processes, primarily through its CBS solution suite. Huawei Mediation delivers convergent mediation capabilities that support any service on any network. Designed for ease of configuration and management, the solution includes pre-built interfaces, templates, and a Web-based configuration platform to simplify integration with new network elements, services, and downstream systems. The company reported to Stratecast that the solution contributes towards improving the time to market for new services.
Huawei Mediation delivers:
- Network and vendor independence, easing integration with legacy systems, and the capability of extension into future environments and services.
- A rules engine for addressing usage transactions from multiple sources. It comes with a graphical interface for flexibility to accelerate new network deployments and service launches, and to reduce cost.
- High performance and availability, supporting cloud architecture, overload flow control, and automatic fault recovery.
“Huawei’s continued growth over the last few years—one of the highest rates amongst the global CSP monetization solution leaders by revenue—is a strong indicator that its CSP customers find that Huawei’s mediation solution capabilities meet or exceed expectations,” Whitelock said. “According to Stratecast | Frost & Sullivan’s assessment of the CSP monetization supplier market, Huawei is the market revenue leader with its Huawei Mediation solution.”
